#TipTuesday: Focus on the traffic that counts
Filter your organisation’s website visits out of your Google Analytics
By default, the All Web Data View in Google Analytics measures ALL traffic and activity on your website, which is great, but this also includes visits and actions from yourself, your team, your organisation, which may skew the overall actions and trends.
To focus on your target audiences – such as your customers, clients or potential customers/clients – it is best to create a new View, that includes filters that exclude visits from your own IP address. You may even exclude the IP addresses of key suppliers who visit your website regularly.
This way, you have one TOTAL View of your website’s activity (All Web Data) and a more focused View of how your target audience are using your website.
To learn how to set up these types of filters, check out the recording of our webinar which steps through this process: https://scoutdigitaltraining.com.au/webinars/
We will also demonstrate how to do this in our upcoming Google Analytics Masterclass: https://scoutdigitaltraining.com.au/events/google-analytics-masterclass/
