If you want your audience to DO SOMETHING as a result of your blog post, social media update, email campaign, ad etc, TELL THEM!

But remember to choose ONE THING ONLY! Decide what the most important action is: like, tag, share, comment, register, download, sign up, book, subscribe etc…

Whatever it is, focus on asking them to do one thing, and you’re much likely to see them do it.

A great analogy I was given about this during my brief stint in the ad industry, was to imagine someone having one ball thrown at them, versus having many balls thrown at them:

One ball = much more likely to catch it.

Many balls = unlikely to catch any!

So think about that ONE THING (or ball) that you want your audience to catch, and finish off your piece of content clearly stating what it is.

If you think this tip will help a friend, tag them!
